Every Little Bit Counts

Each year we hold several fundraising events that help to support our classrooms, teachers, children, craft supplies, toys, equipment & most importantly our community in need. Every purchase automatically includes a donation for our childcare centres that can quickly add up over time. Please help make these fundraisers a success! Share these websites with your friends and family and check back regularly for more upcoming events! Watch our monthly newsletters for all the details or ask your child’s Program Supervisor how you can get involved and participate!

Scholastic Canada

Throughout the year we have a monthly Scholastic Book Club drive where with each purchase through our account from our members, the classroom gets a credit that the teachers can use to upgrade our Books, Toy, Professional Resources and Equipment, while at the same time keeps our classroom library full of fresh thought-provoking, culturally responsive, preschool print, digital, and classroom resources in literacy, math and science. Plus our families can enjoy the quality storybook reading in your homes.

Hop-A-Thon

Muscular Dystrophy Association holds a MDA Hop-a-Thon which is a disability awareness, acceptance and education program that teaches children three core values of Awareness, Acceptance and Assistance. Each year around Easter we participate in the MDA Hop-A-Thon where the children hop like bunnies for the families and friends that sponsor them. The MDA Hop-a-Thon Program is an educational special event. We will feature disability awareness lessons and hands-on activities for children. We will hop to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Parents, family and friends can help by sponsoring your child. All sponsorship funds raised are then donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association on behalf of the children.

Poinsettia’s for Christmas

Each Autumn we purchase in bulk order of the most beautiful Poinsettia’s for Christmas. They are locally grown in our Niagara District where we support the local farms and culture. Our poinsettia fundraiser has proven to be a successful venture for our organization and many more here in Niagara. Please watch our newsletter for size, pricing and delivery details as it changes each year. With the purchase of each poinsettia a portion is returned to our childcares to support our children and education efforts. Have a look at some of the beautiful poinsettias they have available. You won’t be disappointed.

Warming the Christmas tree

Christmas is a time of giving and often a very difficult time for many families in need in our community. Every year during the holiday season, The Chestnut Tree Preschool collects warm items and non-perishable food items to donate to the local Women’s Shelter and our local Food Bank in our area. We warm our tree by asking any families who have donation items including hats, scarves, coats, mittens etc. to please bring them in. We invite you to place your donations on the Christmas Tree in the centre. We will then prior to Christmas donate them to the local woman shelter for children and families in need and the local food bank for the hungry. Thank you so much for all the generosity during the holidays and all the previous years of contributions. This mean so much to those less fortunate.
